How an entrepreneur with a background in electric mobility selected Ferkart electric karts for one of the most remarkable private karting installations in the United States.
In July 2026, an extraordinary residence in Paradise Valley, Arizona, made real estate history.
The nearly 21,000-square-foot estate sold for approximately $40.2 million, establishing a new record for the most expensive residential sale in Arizona. Among its many exceptional amenities, one feature captured particular attention in photographs, property tours and media coverage across the United States:
A private indoor go-kart track equipped with Ferkart electric karts.
For Ferkart, however, the story started years before the record-breaking sale.
It began when entrepreneur Jordan Darling started searching for the right electric go-karts for his private track.
An Entrepreneur With a Background in Electric Mobility
Jordan Darling was no stranger to electric vehicle technology.
Before the Paradise Valley karting project, Darling founded Free Form Factory, a company created around the development of an innovative all-electric personal watercraft. In 2017, Free Form Factory was acquired by Nikola Motor, where Darling subsequently became Vice President of Powersports.
His work in the sector later earned him a place on the Forbes 30 Under 30 – Manufacturing & Industry 2020 list.
That background makes the story behind the private karting track particularly interesting.
Darling was not approaching the project simply as someone looking to purchase recreational vehicles. He already had direct experience with electric mobility and an understanding of the technology behind electric recreational vehicles.
When the time came to select the karts for his private track, he began exploring the solutions available across the karting industry.
The Search for the Right Electric Go-Kart

During that search, Ferkart caught Darling’s attention.
One of the elements that particularly interested him was the electric system incorporated into Ferkart’s karts and the way the technology had been integrated into a vehicle designed specifically for karting.
What began as an initial inquiry developed into a more detailed exchange between Darling and Ferkart.
The conversations went beyond the appearance of the karts. Information was exchanged about the electric system, vehicle characteristics and the requirements of the private track.
After evaluating the available options and discussing the project with Ferkart, Darling ultimately selected Ferkart electric karts for his Paradise Valley track.
For us, that decision has always been an important part of this project.
Electric karting technology was being evaluated by someone who had previously built a business around an electric recreational vehicle. Following his own search and evaluation process, Ferkart became his choice for the track.
Ferkart Electric Karts in a Private Arizona Estate

The finished installation created something rarely found inside a private residence: a genuine indoor karting experience available exclusively to the owner, family and guests.
Located within the lower level of the Paradise Valley estate, the track became one of the property’s most distinctive amenities.
Rather than treating karting as a decorative feature, the installation allowed electric karts to become part of the entertainment experience of the residence itself.
For this type of environment, electric karting offers significant advantages. Instant electric torque can deliver the responsiveness expected from a kart while the absence of an internal combustion engine eliminates tailpipe emissions at the point of use and considerably changes the noise profile of the experience.
These characteristics make electric technology particularly suited to applications where karting needs to coexist with an indoor environment or a premium private property.
The result was a private karting installation that reflected exactly what attracted Darling to the project in the first place: bringing a genuine driving experience together with electric technology.
From Private Karting Project to Arizona Real Estate History

Several years later, the story took an unexpected turn.
When the Paradise Valley residence entered the luxury real estate market, its private go-kart track became one of the features repeatedly highlighted in photographs, videos and media coverage of the property.
The home was marketed at approximately $40 million and ultimately sold in July 2026 for $40.24 million in an all-cash transaction, surpassing the previous Arizona residential sales record of $33.5 million.
The property — including its indoor karting track — received coverage from major publications such as The Wall Street Journal e Mansion Global, as well as numerous real estate and Arizona media outlets. The Wall Street Journal had previously identified Jordan and Jill Darling as the owners when covering the property and its unusual amenities.
What started as a private project had become part of a record-breaking residence known far beyond Arizona.
And inside it were the same Ferkart electric karts selected years earlier for the track.
What This Project Represents for Ferkart
The importance of this project to Ferkart is not simply that our karts ended up inside a $40.2 million property.
For us, the more meaningful part of the story happened before anyone knew that the residence would eventually set a state record.
It happened during the selection process.
A customer with previous experience developing electric recreational vehicles explored the karting market, took a particular interest in the technology incorporated into Ferkart’s electric karts, exchanged technical information with our team and ultimately chose Ferkart for his own project.
That is the part of the story that best represents how we approach our products.
At Ferkart, we believe a kart should be selected according to the characteristics and objectives of the project in which it will operate. A commercial entertainment center, an outdoor circuit, a resort and a private residential track can have very different requirements.
Understanding the application is just as important as understanding the vehicle.
The Paradise Valley project is an exceptional example of where that approach can lead.
Today, images of the private karting track can be found throughout the international coverage surrounding Arizona’s most expensive residential sale.
For Ferkart, they also represent something much simpler:
A customer searched the industry, evaluated the technology and chose Ferkart.
Private Karting Beyond the Traditional Karting Center
Karting does not have to be limited to commercial entertainment facilities.
Private estates, luxury developments, resorts, exclusive clubs and other high-end destinations can integrate karting into their entertainment offering when the right technology and project approach are selected.
The Paradise Valley installation demonstrates what is possible when karting is considered from the beginning as part of a unique entertainment environment.
From private installations to high-volume commercial karting centers, Ferkart develops electric and gasoline karting solutions for projects around the world.
